Why do I need to login?
As an attorney or affiliate member of the State Bar of Michigan, you can update your member profile, pay your annual dues, register for events, shop the SBM store, access Casemaker and the Michigan Bar Journal archives.

No. Most of the SBM site is public and accessible without logging in to the Member Area. Only if you need to change the information in your profile, pay your dues, event registration, shop the SBM store, and to access Casemaker or the Michigan Bar Journal archives.

Click on the Member Area link at the top of the page. Enter your username or P number and your password at the Login page and then select the LOG IN button. P number applies only to Attorney members of the State Bar of Michigan. Affiliate members of the State Bar of Michigan must enter their username. View a video of the process.

Select the link on the Login page, Forgot your login information? And fill in the fields on the User Identification page. Click the CONTINUE button. Then at the Verify e-Mail page, if an e-mail address is on your record, it will be displayed. If the e-mail address listed is still valid, then click the CONTINUE button, otherwise enter new e-mail address as prompted and click the CONTINUE button. The next is the Change Password page and your username is displayed. Be sure to write your username down. Then enter a new password as instructed writing it down and then click the CONTINUE button. Click the link on the User Identification page labeled, Cannot answer the above questions. At the E-mail Username and Password page, provide your e-mail of record or P number (attorneys only) and select the correct button to identify your response. Then click the SEND button. An email will be sent to your e-mail address, providing your username and password.

Click Tools, select Internet Options, on the Security tab, select Trusted Sites, click the SITES button and add *michbar.org, click OK button in both windows, then close the browser and re-open it.

Click Tools, select Options, select Privacy, select the EXCEPTIONS button, enter *michbar.org, click ALLOW, then CLOSE, and then OK. Then close the browser and re-open it.
